I don't buy fashion magazines anymore, which is crazy because I used to love them. I'm pretty sure like a lot of my friends we have all got bored of looking at unrealistic, skinny models sprawled on page after page after page. Nothing against models, however if you are not 7ft tall and size 6, it's really not that much fun looking at fashion magazines. SO, to replace this monthly/daily yearn to be visually inspired I now buy interior books (and of course cookbooks). I have found a new love, not that I didn't love them before, for gorgeous spaces, discovering new ways to use your old furniture, decorating with overseas purchases and weekend finds and as Sibella says, generally being a bowerbird. You can find all of the above warmhearted books at where else but anthropologie.

fiery, red hair
For a long time now I have been completely mesmerised by Florence Welch. Her voice, charisma, hair, overwhelming, all-encompassing music. I am still to tire from her latest cd. A few weeks ago I discovered that Florence is performing live in Central Park, NY on the 25th June, my goodness, devastated, I am still to see her live and boo I leave NY on the 15th, can you believe that. Exasperated.
merry, merry wine
Another must, if you visit Mt Tamborine, is a wine tasting at Witches Falls Cellar Door. It's free, yay, unless of course like us you purchase way too many bottles of wine. It's another little surprise we found on our weekend getaway to Mt Tamborine. Easy day trip too for us Brisbaneites.

the loeb boathouse
The Loeb Boathouse in Central Park is another "must" stop for my trip to NYC. A bagel and a coffee and a boat ride with my Mum is definitely on the list. The weather will be warming up too, it's spring, sunshine, flowers and eating al fresco, yes, yes, yes.

cherry blossoms and magnolia petals
My Mum loves, loves, loves her garden. A serious garden enthusiast one might say. We are going to be in NY for Spring, how wonderful. Apparently the places for such enthusiasts to see are: Lilac walk, west and east side of the Reservoir, The Pond, Shakespeare Garden, Azalea walk, Conservatory garden, Strawberry fields, Botanical Gardens NY and Brooklyn. Thanks to this central park website I have all the information we need. Counting down the sleeps.

ever thine, ever mine, ever ours
Remember this from SATC, I just stumbled upon it again here and realised that although I was intrigued at that moment I didn't ever really look into it, so here is the spiel.
It is from a letter made by Ludwig van Beethoven called Immortal Beloved.
Good morning, on July 7
Though still in bed, my thoughts go out to you, my Immortal Beloved, now and then joyfully, then sadly, waiting to learn whether or not fate will hear us - I can live only wholly with you or not at all - Yes, I am resolved to wander so long away from you until I can fly to your arms and say that I am really at home with you, and can send my soul enwrapped in you into the land of spirits - Yes, unhappily it must be so - You will be the more contained since you know my fidelity to you. No one else can ever possess my heart - never - never - Oh God, why must one be parted from one whom one so loves. And yet my life in V is now a wretched life - Your love makes me at once the happiest and the unhappiest of men - At my age I need a steady, quiet life - can that be so in our connection? My angel, I have just been told that the mailcoach goes every day - therefore I must close at once so that you may receive the letter at once - Be calm, only by a calm consideration of our existence can we achieve our purpose to live together - Be calm - love me - today - yesterday - what tearful longings for you - you - you - my life - my all - farewell. Oh continue to love me - never misjudge the most faithful heart of your beloved.

I don't know about you, but I LOVE getting mail, I love cards, I love letters. In our digital world it is so heartfelt to recieve mail, by post that is. I love sending cards, very rarely send a letter. I think this is it my inspiration to start writing letters. My looming trip seems the perfect time to start. Thankfully I have just collected everybody's postal addresses due to a certain "BIG" event, because that's the other issue, my address book seemed to get so - out of date - I will most likely transfer them to my email, so I have them on file whereever I go, can't seem to let go of that digital world. Oh well.
Love to you all. xx
wall space
With my rapidly diminishing wall space becoming more and more disquieting, I have been on the search for inspiration. Look what I found - Creative Walls by Geraldine James - pages and pages of ideas. Now I can't wait for our additions, so I can purchase more lovely things.

join the revolution
In a world of advertising and mass produced products, where we are conned that the luxury products are "one of a kind", Le Labo is starting a revolution. Best friends, Edouard and Fabrice, are taking perfume into their own hands and producing some fresh, hand manufactured bottles of goodness. Check them out here.
