wholefood for children
When my baby's little mouth first opened asking for food, I suddenly realised what a big responsibility this mum thing is. My boy is so pure and it's up to me to keep him this way. When I started feeding him solids from six months I looked to this Wholefood for Children book by natural food guru Jude Blereau that my sister told me about. I love it and it's not just because the pages are coloured in pastel pink and blue sweetness. Her philosophy about food - to keep it whole, organic, nourishing, delicious and served with love - is heartwarming and inspiring. I also love that most of the recipes are for the whole family so it's helping us eat more consciously too. We're a bit hooked on the Baby Kichari recipe consisting of red lentils, quinoa, coconut oil and butternut pumpkin, among other spices and stocks. Do you know how creamy red lentils are! Delicious. Thanks Jude! Her blog is full of recipes and wholefood wisdom but I love holding her book in my hands.

jellyfish
Jellyfish in Brisbane with some of our besties on Sunday night. Wow the food is incredible, service impeccable, atmosphere quirky and fun. Highly recommended in my books. We had been to Aria around 2 weeks ago with some other dear friends and although the food was lovely, my hubby's steak was a bit tough though, it just had no atmosphere. We all felt like we were in a big hotel restaurant and should have been wondering up to our rooms after dinner for our flights the next day. Maybe I missed something though as it has an amazing reputation. If you have to choose, it has to be Jellyfish. Mmmm
Thank you travel memo for the image

ms g's
Ms G's in Potts Point, Sydney is a fabulous new restaurant/bar designed by Sibella Court. They offer asian fusion delicious eats and kooky cocktails, with - for a nice change - the most agreeable and pleasant bar staff.

jules' bistro
Jules Bistro located in the east village, NYC is super fun. The food is french, tick, music jazz, tick. Styled like a French Bistro similar to that you may find in Marais or La Bastille Arrondissements in Paris. Little bit more heaven and fun in a city where this is well in abundance. Mia and I went for dinner and jazz, staff are fantastic too.

mulberry bush
Yum, the Mulberry Bush at home was in full fruit. There's nothing like picking Mulberry's straight from the tree, black sweet juice all over your fingers. Wish I had grabbed a bucket load to bring home to bake a Mulberry Pie.

serendipity3
Who doesn't love finding the happy unexpected. Serendipity is super cute and kooky. Located at 225 East, 60th street, you have to try their famous frozen hot chocolate and pecan pie.

coffee and easter wishes
A delightful group of lovelies caught up for an early morning coffee before work to wish each other a happy Easter. Some to Perth, others to the sunny coast, Noosa, another to Hervey Bay and a couple staying at home to recoup. I took some photos of the yummies on offer and got in a wee bit of trouble by the staff, how odd, it's not like they invented macaroons or croissants, silly French Twist, silly Brisbane. Anyways, it was gorgeous to catch up with the girls.

merry, merry wine
Another must, if you visit Mt Tamborine, is a wine tasting at Witches Falls Cellar Door. It's free, yay, unless of course like us you purchase way too many bottles of wine. It's another little surprise we found on our weekend getaway to Mt Tamborine. Easy day trip too for us Brisbaneites.

the kitchen table
I've been meaning to post these photos for a while of this gorgeous, elegant deli/restaurant/cafe The Kitchen Table up on Mt Tamborine. We stumbled upon this lovely place on a little cheeky getaway a couple of months ago. Yummy coffee, delish breakfast and a relaxed ambience about the place. I love it when you find these little treasures so unexpectedly.
