loosing time

This photo makes me smile. It's really windy here today. I wish I was laying amongst the tulips in the sun with my friends. Sorry for my posting absence, time seems to be running away on me and I have SO many more NYC finds to show you.

saying goodbye to nyc

 I say goodbye to this wonderful city today. I have so much more to blog about from my trip, I just haven't had enough time. I leave you with these photos from my trip to the Brooklyn Flea Markets in Williamsburg. Brooklyn is so inspiring, it's fresh with new idea's, endless optimism and a little more space then it's sister across the way. The view of Manhattan from the green where the markets are held has to be the best view of the city by far. More to come. And homeward bound I am. The arms of my husband are what I'm looking for. xx

Dreaming of hot summer days, long lunches with pretty white flowers and ripe, juicy cherries. Ice cold homemade lemonade with splashes of belvedere vodka. Mmmm. I heard it's cold at home.

ace hotel

I found out about this hotel (amongst many other things) - Ace Hotel - in The Stylist Guide to NYC. My mum and I stopped by for brunch after checking out the Chelsea Flower markets. It's ultra cool NYC, americana decor supporting local street artists, grand yet mysterious. You can buy your coffee from Stumptown Coffee Roasters and sit in the lobby on your laptop catching up on your emails and blogging, whilst being surrounded by majestic interior design and all walks of life. More about this hotel later.

A little french bakery located at the Essex St Markets serving yummy, creamy coffee (Stumptown Coffee) and tasty croissants. Pain D'Avignon is just around the corner from the apartment. Sorry about the last photo, waiting to get the subway uptown and my balancing efforts were left a little bit to be desired. 

swing 46, jazz and supper club

 Mum really wanted to go to a swing club, so after a little research we found Swing 46 a Jazz and Supper Club. Located along 46th street in the Theatre district, this little club was fabulous. The night we went we had a bite to eat, some cocktails and saw Felix and the Cats, a seven member Big Band. There was also a fabulous professional swing couple dancing the night away. Super fun, highly recommended.

theatre at your fingertips

I've managed to fit in 6 shows thus far. Pretty impressive. There is so, so, so much to see on Broadway, off Broadway, off, off Broadway. Overwhelming I must say. One of my favourites being The House of Blue Leaves with Ben Stiller, Jennifer Jason Leigh and Eddie Falco. I've tried to see as much as possible of what I'm pretty sure won't come to Australia.
