Who doesn't love finding the happy unexpected. Serendipity is super cute and kooky. Located at 225 East, 60th street, you have to try their famous frozen hot chocolate and pecan pie.

Tiki bars are all about tropical cultures, largely inspired by the South Pacific, especially Polynesia. What's not to like? They are full of exotic decor and fruity cocktails. I didn't know this, but they were started in LA, full of South Pacific artifacts and rum based cocktails. Basically close your eyes and think, bamboo, hula girls and Mai Tai's.  Mia and I stopped by The Rusty Knot on the edge of the meatpacking district in NYC, it was so much fun, someone should open one up here, please, please we have the perfect weather for it.

MoSex

Museum of Sex, NYC, intriguing and entertaining exhibiting Burlesque, history of porn and sex in movies, comics, sex lives of animals. The museum is dedicated to the exploration of the history, evolution and cultural significance of human sexuality.

The Museum of Modern Art. A beautiful collection from the past and present. Keep in mind it's closed on Tuesdays, a mistake we made. Lucky we had time to go back. And, for the ladies, the nyc manolo blahnik store is across the road on W 54th.

Freemans Restaurant hidden away at the end of Freeman Alley in NoLita, NYC is cosy and delicious and well worth a visit. Enjoy.

bike the big apple

Mia and I did a fantastic guided bike tour around Brooklyn on our recent trip to nyc. The company we did it with is called bike the big apple. It was so much fun and allowed us to see nyc in a different light, one might say it allowed us to smell the roses! Super fun.

I'm loving Marlena de Blasi and her gorgeous books. It makes you want to jump on a plane to Italy - pronto! 1000 days in Venice is her first book, it's lovely, followed by 1000 days in Tuscany and The Lady in the Palazzo - which I'm reading at the moment.
