Olivia from a field journal recently made these cocktail umbrellas for Papermash and photographed them in a picnic style setting. On her blog she tells you how they come together simply with mini doilies, wooden skewers and a few other art supplies. How cute is she?!

Plus, Olivia went on a little road trip and captured these moments. How stunning and romantic.  Ok I have to stop stalking her.

After visiting the Met one day we got a little row boat on the lake, followed by a pimms and lemonade at the boathouse. It was so hot, you can see the haze over the city. And if you look closely they are doing a fashion shoot at the Bethesda Fountain.

My saturday morning was bliss. Sleep in, light creeping through the curtains, boiled eggs (my latest weekend breaky obsession). My afternoon even better, a snooze, a little home magazine research, laptop in bed, Francois Hardy on the speakers, sun going down.

new york public library

The new york public library is simply beautiful. Every little detail from the grand door at the entrance, the famous lions, the ceiling on the inside, the old wooden desks that beg you to sit and get lost in literature, the reading room (you have to click on this link). On my visit they were exhibiting - Celebrating 100 years. I stumbled upon Charles Dickens's letter opener, the final draft of George Washington's Farewell Address, the original Winnie-the-pooh and his friends, who have lived in the library since 1987, Virginia Woolf's walking stick. A dear friend suggested I go to the Mapping room, I didn't make it unfortunately, but I wish I did. Read here.
