the loveliest of images

I can't remember where I found all of these images, they have been on my desktop for a little while now. Please comment if you know who has taken them so I can tell everybody. How precious are they all?

katz's delicatessen

Remember "that scene" in When Harry met Sally? Well it was at Kat's Delicatessen and Mum and I went there on one of our first nights, it's just around the corner. The meals are HUGE, we shared a pastrami sandwich which they are famous for. Let's just say I haven't raced back, but wow what an experience!

cafe sabarsky

Boiled eggs in martini glasses and freshly squeezed orange juice for brunch. cafe sabarsky at the Neue Galerie on 5th Ave is inspired by Viennese cafes, there's lot's of buzz and you peer out the window looking over central park.

neue galerie

Last week we visited the Neue Galerie on 5th Avenue. A museum devoted to Austrian and German art and design from the early twentieth century.  Gustav Klimt, Vasily Kandinsky are very much represented at this gallery. The current exhibition - Vienna 1900: Style and Identity is on show with furniture, fashion and accessories from the period. Beautiful and intricate.

Rancé 1975

The Rancé family produced perfumed gloves for the French aristocracy. They turned entirely to perfumery in 1795 and their perfume was historically favoured by Napoleon. I had never heard of their perfume until I bought a bottle of the Collection Privée when we were going through Singapore last year. Luckily you can buy online, visit their website here.

Mesmerised by tec petaja's images again, I couldn't help but post some photos I found on his blog a couple of months ago. Thank you Mr. Petaja for these gorgeous images of France and Italy. So inspiring and simply beautiful to look at.

savage beauty at the met

The Alexander McQueen exhibition at The Met was extraordinary. I walked through with my eyes wide and jaw dropped. Visit the met website, there are some incredible images of the exhibition.

peonies from the corner stall

$10 for 5 peonies at the corner stall. That makes you smile in more ways than one.

the view from our rooftop

This is the view from our rooftop in the lower east side. The empire state building and chrysler in full view as the sun goes down and all the way back to the financial district. Some tasty new york pizza and beer for dinner.

peonies, peonies, peonies

We visited the flower market this morning, waking up at 6am to arrive at 7.30am to see the hustle and bustle of 28th Street. The flowers are amazing and so, so cheap. The peonies, breathtaking - $22 for a dozen - imagine that, you would buy them every week if that's all you had to pay for such beauty.
